Aquatherm Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Registration

Manufacturer displays continuing commitment to quality control and customer satisfaction.

Lakewood, NJ – July 26, 2011 – Aquatherm Industries, already the industry’s most tested and most trusted manufacturer of solar pool heating systems is proud to announce that it has been successfully audited and certified as an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 Company.  Aquatherm’s registered and certified Quality Management System (QMS) will provide continuous improvements – increasing resource efficiencies, deliverables quality, and enhanced customer satisfaction.

ISO International Organization of Standards

This voluntary achievement confirms Aquatherm’s unwavering commitment to quality-of-service standards, and lets our customers know that the company adheres to documented processes and procedures that ensure ongoing improvements in delivering global customer support.  The company’s strict compliance with other quality standards including IAPMO, NSF and CSA helped fast-track the auditing process.

“We believe that Aquatherm is the first and only U.S. solar collector manufacturer to become part of this elite group of companies,” said President and CEO Dave Sizelove. “This certification is a huge step in the direction to not only meet, but exceed our customer’s expectations.”

ISO 9001:2008 certification represents an international consensus on good management practices. It ensures the use of effective processes, which are consistently monitored and continually improved, with the aim of ensuring that an organization can repeatedly deliver products and services that meet the customer’s quality requirements. As part of the certification process, Aquatherm demonstrated to its auditors a company-wide understanding of the ISO 9001:2008 standard and sound, documented management processes.

Aquatherm’s ISO Registration joins a long list of certifications and approvals for Aquatherm and its products, including the Florida Solar Energy Center, Solar Rating & Certification Corporation, International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials, City of Los Angeles, CSA International and most recently National Sanitation Foundation Standard 50 – a safety, durability, and toxicity standard sought by commercial pool owners and operators.

NSF Takes Further Regulatory Action Against UMA Solar For False NSF Claim

NSF Regulatory has released the following statement regarding false claims made by UMA Solar regarding their Heliociol and Sunstar solar pool heaters.  UMA has falsely represented its Heliocol and Sunstar brands of solar pool heating systems by claiming they are NSF-61 certified.  They are, in fact, not certified to any NSF standard.

“UMA Solar has distributed statements claiming that their Heliocol and SunStar solar collectors were certified by NSF to NSF/ANSI Standard 61. These products are not currently certified by NSF to NSF/ANSI Standard 61.

On April 27, 2011 UMA Solar issued a press release concerning NSF-61 Certification for their Heliocol and SunStar solar collectors. Subsequently they issued a retraction. The retraction did state that the Heliocol and SunStar solar collectors are not, in and of themselves, certified by NSF.” – NSF

Aquatherm is still the only solar manufacturer to have passed the strict safety, durability & toxicity standards set forth by NSF.  NSF’s Standard 50 is particularly important in commercial swimming pools and other public aquatic facilities.
