Aquatherm Industries Factory Tour Video

Aquatherm Industries has released a 6-minute video showing a behind-the-scenes look at our entire manufacturing process.

The video takes viewers from “pellets to pallets,” with a step-by-step walkthrough of how our NSF-listed solar pool heaters are made. From taking in precompounded polypropylene resin pellets (the material used to make the solar collectors); to our multiple thermoplastic extrusion lines; to the final assembly and quality control testing of collectors, we want to show the world why it we’ve come to be known as “The Most Trusted Name in Solar Pool Heating.”

In 2005, Aquatherm’s Lakewood, NJ manufacturing facility doubled in size following a 25,000 square foot expansion.  In 2011, Aquatherm Industries, Inc. became an ISO 9001:2008 registered company, and is still currently the only U.S. solar collector manufacturer to meet the standards of the world-renowned quality management system. We currently manufacture seven of the industry’s leading brands of solar pool heating systems—including its three “flagship” collectors: Ultrasun, Ecosun, and Solar Industries—as well as a number of private-label collectors.

Dave Sizelove, CEO and Co-founder of Aquatherm, believes the video speaks volumes to the focus on quality and attention to detail throughout the entire manufacturing process. “We have some customers, Dealers who have installed our systems for upwards of 20 years, who had never seen all the effort we put into supplying them with a quality product. It’s fantastic to be able to give them a behind-the-scenes look at the work we do every day.”

“In the beginning, we had planned to keep the video within our close network of Dealers and Distributors,” says Sizelove. “But, as we moved forward with the project, we made a conscious decision to go public. Now, pool owners who are looking to heat with solar can see for themselves the quality and workmanship that goes into each and every one of our solar pool heaters.”

Aquatherm Passes ISO Inspection; Maintains ISO 9001:2008 Registration

Lakewood, NJ— The largest manufacturer of solar pool heaters in the United States, Aquatherm Industries, Inc., announced today it has passed an annual ISO audit inspection conducted by QAS International and will maintain its ISO 9001:2008 registration. The ISO 9001:2008 standard pertains to the systems and methodologies used in an organization’s quality policies. Per the official ISO audit summary, no non-conformities were found in the manufacturer’s quality management system (QMS). The lead auditor found Aquatherm’s quality policy to be both “established and effectively communicated throughout the organization,” and also noted “continual improvement is evident.”

“Quality is our number one priority at Aquatherm,” says Dave Sizelove, Aquatherm President and CEO.

“I believe we exist solely to provide our customers with the tools they need to succeed in this industry, and that means providing a quality product with equal quality customer service. Maintaining our ISO registration requires us to continually refocus on improving quality control policies and systems.”

At the time of its initial ISO registration in 2011, Aquatherm was the only U.S. manufacturer of solar collectors—including both thermal and photovoltaic technologies—to achieve the standard; it currently remains the only U.S. manufacturer of solar thermal collectors and system components to be ISO registered.

About Aquatherm:

An ISO 9001:2008 registered company, Aquatherm Industries, Inc. is the largest U.S. manufacturer of low-temperature, unglazed polymer solar collectors – primarily used for residential and commercial swimming pool heating as well as domestic hot water and process pre-heat applications. Within the company’s “pellets to panels” approach, Aquatherm’s extrusion, welding, and injection molding processes have been awarded four U.S. and two International Patents for its technology. In addition, Aquatherm’s collectors were the first NSF-50 listed solar collectors in the word. Aquatherm distributors currently serve Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, all of North, Central, and South America, France, Egypt, and Jordan.

Dennis Esposito Named Manufacturer’s Representative for Ultrasun

Aquatherm Industries, Inc., the nation’s largest manufacturer of swimming pool solar heaters, announced today it has appointed Dennis Esposito, owner of Performance Solar in Escondido, CA, as a manufacturer’s representative for its newest product, the Ultrasun Solar Pool Heater, in the states of California and Arizona, as well as within Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Dennis Esposito and Performance Solar have been synonymous with solar pool heating in the southern California marketplace for 20 years,” says Dave Sizelove, President and CEO of Aquatherm. “This next step for Dennis and his team at Performance follows the Aquatherm model of taking a successful retail organization and using their accumulated knowledge and experience to develop a Dealer Network.”

The newest of Aquatherm’s “flagship brands,” the Ultrasun panel was introduced in 2012 under limited release, and has been well-received within the industry. Several innovations in solar pool heater design make Ultrasun dramatically different from its predecessors, and have earned the product three U.S. Patents. The panel’s key difference lies in the header-to-tube connection, by which the header manifold is insert-molded around the absorber plate, by way of a patented “stem-block.” This stem-block is permanently embedded in the absorber plate’s riser tubes, and acts as an expansion/contraction bridge between the header and absorber. The manufacturer’s patented process of venting the absorber plate, by which no material is removed from the panel, results in maximum surface area while still offering the benefits of roof-ventilation and wind-load relief in extreme weather conditions.

The relationship between Aquatherm Industries and Mr. Esposito’s Performance Solar dates back 18 years to 1995, when Performance began selling and installing the manufacturer’s Ecosun Solar Pool Heater. A number of years later, Performance Solar began carrying a competitive brand of solar pool heaters, but later returned to once again offer Aquatherm products.

“We’re excited to take our business to the next level, and ready to grow the Ultrasun brand,” said Esposito. “We know we’ve got a premium product from a quality manufacturer. Now, we’re looking forward to setting up Dealers in the southwest, and helping them grow their business the same way Aquatherm has helped us grow ours.”
